About the archive

Why it exists

One reliable point of entry to a many-sided body of work.

Eva Gata was the literary name of mathematician, teacher and artist Olha Kossak. Her family assembled this archive to keep her books, painting, interviews, press records, academic bibliography and public chronology connected.

The archive serves readers, librarians, journalists, researchers, educators and organisers. It is a reference resource, not a substitute for the original editions, repositories or rights holders’ permission.

What the site does—and does not—claim

01

Preservation

Historical website material is retained, while its original publication context and archival status remain visible.

02

Verification

New reference claims are tied to a source register. Conflicting, missing or permission-dependent information is labelled rather than silently resolved.

03

Open questions

The academic bibliography, some periodical appearances, image rights and current book availability still require continuing checks.

Improve the record

Have a first edition, programme, photograph or correction?

Send enough context to verify the material: title, date, creator, publication or institution, and—where possible—a stable catalogue or archive link. Please do not include unnecessary sensitive personal documents.
